I've been a bad blogger but in my defense, we've been away for the past week and I've been super busy hence no blog. So where were we? We were in Halifax getting lots of stuff taken care of such as: Adam getting his wisdom teeth out, celebrating Mya's 1st birthday, taking Mya to her 12mos dr's appt and getting Mya's first year pictures taken. Phew! Just writing it makes me feel out of breath!
Adam seems to be recovering well...so far he hasn't experienced any sort of infection or prolonged pain. Although, he only has 2 prescription pain killers left and he's been rationing them cause I think he's afraid of what it might be like to go without them.
Mya's birthday was fun! She had a good time and enjoyed spending time with family. Mya/we were given the gift of having a photog at the party so we wouldn't have to worry about taking pics and we could just sit back and enjoy the party. Great idea! Highly recommended! We're still waiting to get them back and once we do I promise I will share! Birthday cake was clearly a course she had already taken...she needed NO help inhaling her little cake! Every last crumb was found and promptly cleaned up and all surfaces with icing were licked clean. She was definitely the star that day!
Then we were off to the doctor for baby (or should i say 'big girl'? :( ) to get her 12mos needles. As always, she did very well...she's such a brave girl! She was more upset about the needle in her arm but the tears didn't last long and she was on her way again exploring Dr. Z's office. Because she's more active now (and practically walking!) she didn't gain any weight but she did grow half an inch. New stats: 25lbs, 31.5".
Then it was off to New Glasgow to get Miss Mya some one year pictures done. She did very well! She clearly loves the camera and I can't wait to see how they turned out. We're still patiently waiting for those pictures, and I promise to share those as well once we get them!
So, a little Mya catch up shall we?
At one year old my little girl can:
-Clap her hands
-Give high fives
-Let go of one surface and walk to another (when she wants to)
-Go for longer drives in the car when awake and be happy about it
-Stand on her tippy toes to reach something up high
-Dance when she hears music being sung
-Drink cows' milk instead of formula
-Unroll the toilet paper
-Give kisses and hugs
-Express love to her stuffed bunny
-Go for bike rides with us
What a lot of stuff she can do eh? I'm so proud of her!
Ok, no more blogging for this mom, I'm heading to bed!
