10 on Tuesday

So, since I don't think I can come up with ten random things to share today, how about I share ten songs that are current favorites? These are in constant rotation at our house...maybe they're played over and over at your house too?

1. Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland. I had to put this as #1 since Mya hardly lets us listen to anything else. When a song starts she'll listen to the first few lines and if she realizes it's not what she's looking for she shakes her head no and gets upset until you change it. It inevitably always ends up being this song that she wants and once it starts her shoulder dance begins.

2. Rich Girl$ by Down with Webster. Don't judge me based on the fact that this song has a dollar sign in the title. At first I also thought "oh great, is this like a Ke$ha song?" but it isn't and it's great and catchy. It's actually a group from Canada...which just means I like them more. The song is a cover and the original is done by someone called Nina Simone. Sometimes I think I like the original more.

3. Raise Your Glass by Pink. This one always gets Mya dancing. Most Pink songs are upbeat and get a dance party started in our kitchen.

4. Haven't Met You Yet by Michael Buble. This is one of my favorites but Mya hates it and I hardly ever get to listen to it unless she's not around.

5. The Elmo Song. We have a 2 year old. Need I say more? (This one doesn't get a link to the video because she's sitting right beside me and I know if she sees him I'll have to listen to it and I really don't want to.)

6. Speak Now by Taylor Swift. There is a lot of Taylor Swift that goes on in this house. I think it might be unhealthy how much I hear her.

7. Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. I absolutely love this song! Personally, I think it sends a great message and although there are other artists out there who sing songs with great messages (like, Pink with Raise Your Glass and Less Than Perfect), I think the fact that this one is sung by a man makes a big difference. If only there were more male artists out there that would sing songs like this.

8. Loser Like Me by The Glee Cast. This is mostly Adam's doing. Don't get me wrong, I like Glee and I think this song is cute but I'm not the one who listens to it all the time.

9. Valerie by Amy Winehouse. This song is so catchy! It's not one of Mya's favorites but I like it so it makes the playlist.

10. Forget You by Cee-Lo Green. Me and Adam really really like this song but saying Mya doesn't like it is an understatement. She actually cries when it plays and as I'm writing this she is hiding behind me and clinging to my shirt because I have it playing on YouTube. We aren't sure where this comes from...we assume maybe the man scares her because he is kind of loud and wears loud clothes? We don't know.

There are more songs that we listen to on a daily basis but I could only pick ten. Maybe I'll do another ten another time.
